The Music Media Maven: Finally February!
January took way too long...time to turn it up a notch!

A picture of me so you can put a face to the name :)
Okay, You’re Backstage. Now What?
Welcome to this month’s edition of The Music Media Maven! I’m Melanie, and I’m here to help you make your dream life in the EDM industry a reality. I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible companies like The Festival Babes, DefineEverythingFuture, and Rave with Mi Gente (and so many more) via social media. I guess you could say that makes me a bit of a maven… which means it’s time for me to help you become one too!
Here’s how this is going to look - Every month, I’m bringing you a lesson, a tip, and an industry spotlight (because we all need a little inspo, duh!). We’re diving deep into strategy and psychology. And once we’re done? You’ll be ready to break through any obstacle in your way.
This newsletter is for creators, artists, and brands who want to stand out in today’s fast-moving digital space. And this month, I’m adding some new fun stuff - like exclusive industry opportunities and 1:1 coaching calls to help you take things to the next level. Throughout the year, we’ll unlock industry secrets, break things down for content creators vs. artists vs. brands, and even throw in some extra resources.
Whether your goal is to land sponsorships, make your music go viral, or build a social media strategy that actually works, this newsletter is packed with actionable insights—just for you.
Let’s turn you into a maven!
A Page Out of the Playbook 📝
This month’s lesson is just scratching the surface of what we’re going to dive into this year, and it’s a big one. If there’s one thing holding so many creators, artists, and brands back, it’s the fear of being perceived.
Be honest: how many times have you held back from posting because you were afraid of what people might think? Maybe you worried your content wasn’t good enough, that someone from your past would judge you, or that you’d embarrass yourself by trying. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone…so many people let this fear keep them from fully stepping into their creative potential.
Here’s the hard truth: People are going to perceive you no matter what. So why not be perceived as your most authentic self? The more you let fear dictate your actions, the more you stay stuck.
Last year I really struggled to show up as my authentic self. I lost myself in an abusive relationship, and was struggling to connect with everyone around me. I couldn’t be authentic because I was too disconnected. It took me reconnecting to myself to remember that my authenticity is a super power, and that the right people will flock to it. You are the same way. Your authenticity is your specialty, and the right people will love you for it.
So, I want you to ask yourself:
What’s the real reason you’re not posting? Are there parts of your life that you need to change to be able to show up?
Are you afraid of failing? Or are you afraid of actually succeeding and stepping into your power?
At the end of the day, what’s scarier: putting yourself out there or staying stuck where you are?
This month, I challenge you to start showing up, even if it feels uncomfortable. The more you do it, the easier it gets. And trust me, your people are out there, but they can’t find you if you’re hiding.
Let’s make this the month you stop letting fear control your creativity
Tips to Keep You on Track & Trending 🚀
Keep a running list of post ideas on your phone. Any time you have an idea, type it in before you lose it!
Use your life experience to connect to your audience. There is no power quite like the power of relatability!
Create a series that is true to YOU. It may take some time to catch on, but it will force you to show up as your true self!
Have patience as your content creation skills develop. The more content you create, the better you become. Great things take time and practice!
February Spotlight: Tatum.Bell 🔦

When it comes to standing out in the rave scene, few do it as authentically as Tatum Bell. What sets her apart? Simple: she’s unapologetically herself. Tatum’s energy, vulnerability, and raw authenticity have earned her a dedicated following of 16.4K on Instagram and 40.5K on TikTok, and it’s no surprise why people are drawn to her. She doesn't try to fit into a mold; she breaks it, showing that being true to who you are is the best way to connect with your audience.
In a space often filled with trends and surface-level personas, Tatum shines as a real, unfiltered creator. Whether she's sharing moments from her festival experiences, personal insights, or just vibing in the scene (and the vibes are truly unmatched), her genuine nature is what resonates most with the community. She shows us that when you embrace your true self, everything else falls into place.
Tatum may be a member of the rave niche now, but, due to her authentic content style, I truly believe she could make any type of content she wants and be wildly successful at it. So, let’s take a page out of Tatum’s book and remember: the world wants to see you, not a version of you that’s trying to fit a trend.
